Builder Pack
A cool feature of the AVpack Sky Station is that it can almost build itself with only one or two mouse clicks from you. They way that it does this is either from clicking the relevant icon on the AVHUD to rez your modules you wish to use, or via the wearable "Builder Backpack". If you decide to use the Builder backpack, simply left click it and it provides you with a menu. From this menu you can select a number of modules to rez out. All of these modules connect to the numbered JUNCTION docking points. A junction is basically is a central keystone for you to keep expanding up, down or out as far as you want to go.
Before you go flying off into the sky ready to build your next space station, you will need to rez a Junction HZ module. These can be found on your builder backpack main menu under Build Out or from the Build Out sub context menu of the AVHUD.
|
How To Connect the Modules Together
- Simply wear the Builder Backpack and left click it to see the module menu.
- Click the BUILD OUT section.
- Select JUNCTION HZ. The module will rez.
- Select ACCESS HZ from Builder Pack menu. This module will also rez.
- Now click any of the Junction ports [1] - [4] on the side of the junction module you rezzed out first.
- The ACCESS HZ will travel to and auto align to that port.
Keep a mental note that ACCESS modules connect to Junctions and Junctions connect to ACCESS modules. All other modules will prompt you to click on their supported module docking points once they are rezzed.

What Altitude?
Most of the AVpack Sky Stations we looked at where built at various heights. Everyone has there favourite altitude to build at. For newcomers though it is a little tricky to figure out just how high you can build to. It is tempting to fly up to 4000 and want to build higher than the next guy, but second lifers will know that there is only a certain height that you can build to (4096m). Not to fear. Those people who may not be really proficient in sky building can put the "ALTITUDE" feature on the Options Menu of the backpack and that will provide you with a guide on what is a good altitude for you to start building at. It provides you with a visual display with both text and lighting. With this feature you can sky build like the pro's.
|
Junctions
These modules are the keystone to your whole structure. Every other module connects to these units. You can attach access ways to these and then more junction onto the end of those both vertically and horizontally. You could build as high as you can to 4096m or as wide as a whole sim using this combination. Building up would make this ideal for anyone wishing to create a rental sky home for tenants. Owners of the AVpack could rent a docking point from you then attach their own Quarters. The possibilities and ideas are up to you. We give you the parts and they are only limited by your imagination.
- Unlimited Combinations - Attach any module from the Builder Pack to the related Junctions points.
- Auto Align - Each module has an auto-dock function built into the menu. Once rezzed a module will ask you where to go.
- Easy - Like everything we make here at Space Bums we have ensured that the system is "Grandma" proof! If she can use it so can you.
- Menu Driven - minimal typing, just pick an option from an easy to navigate menu system. No typing.
- Copy - Every module is copy and you can texture them too.
- Features - Every module has its own built in features, doors, force fields, lights, effects.
Access Ways
These are the sisters modules to the junction modules above. By combining these two, you can expand your Sky Station outward and upward. The black ends of these modules once clicked will allow connection of junctions or other supported modules. Click the centre and you can connect via the main menu.
